Questions and answers about male shaving
- How do I avoid nicks and cuts when shaving?
- Make sure you exfoliate before the shave, use warm water and a sharp blade & dont apply too much pressure on your skin.
- Will shaved hair grow back darker and thicker?
- Since shaving removes hair on the surface of the skin, it doesn't affect the colour or the thickness of the hair, therefore shaving does not cause darker, thicker or faster re-growth of hair. After an area has been shaved, the hair shafts start to emerge from the follicle, so your hair looks and feels coarse and bristly. If you allow the hair to grow out, it will take on its original appearance and texture.
- How often do I need to change the blades?
- The frequency that you will need to change your blade depends on your hair structure and how quickly it re-grows. Change them when you feel that you have to apply more pressure on the skin, as this is an indication they are starting to go blunt.
- Is shaving bad for my skin?
- Not if done properly. Make sure you prepare and moisturise properly. See the shaving tips on how to do this. Most razors now have an added lubrication strips that will help the razor glide across the skin and minimise nicks and cuts.
- How do I know which razor is right for me?
- We all have different skin. So it's important to choose the right razor.
